Hari Parbat Fort

Hari Parbat fort is also known as Mughal fort. It was built during the rule of Akbar but after that the fort owes itself to the Afghan governor of Kashmir in the 18th century. It is situated at Sharika Hill, one can see it from west of Dal Lake. Akbar got built the outer wall of the fort in 1590 at a cost of one crore and ten lakh of rupees. There is a Guru Dwara on the southern side of the outer wall. The hill is also called Predemna Peet or Kohi Maran. Now the fort is occupied by army.
