Shri Pratap Singh Museum

Sri Pratap Singh Museum is the famous museum in Srinagar. It was the summer palace of the Maharajas of Srinagar converted into museum in the year 1898.It is located in Lal mandi. The museum consisted of objects from the Jammu and Kashmir toshkhana. This toshkhana includes shawls, paintings, arms and armory, silver images, copper and jade ornaments, copper and brass utensils and Ladkhi handicrafts. It is also having a large collection of archaeological stuff excavated from the Pandrethan, Parashpura and Avantipura sites. It is open for visitors from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm except on Wednesday.
