Hazratbal Mosque

Hazratbal Mosque is the most important Muslim shrine of Srinagar. It is situated on the bank of the Dal Lake, from here one can view the lake and the mountains. This shrine is known by many names include Assar-e-Sharif, Madinat-Us-Sani and Dargah Sharief. It is constructed in 1979 with marble by the Muslim Auqaf Trust headed by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. The Hazratbal mosque, standing like a glowing dream with its pristine grace reflected in the waters, is an abiding symbol of the potential for warmth and amity among different people.
